In 2018 the Wisconsin DOT Law Enforcement Memorial Plates were changed to a fundraising license plate. The plates recognize law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The registration fee for these special plates includes a $25 tax deductible donation. The donation is equally split between the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The mission of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) is to tell the story of American law enforcement and make it safer for those who serve. The NLEOMF is a 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. The NLEOMF built and maintains the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which is the nation's monument to the law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. NLEOMF is a primary organizer of National Police Week events including the Candlelight Vigil held annually on May 13th. NLEOMF and the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial, Inc. are two separate organizations.

Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) was organized in 1984. COPS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, mission is to rebuild shattered lives of survivors and co-workers affected by line of duty deaths. COPS provides a variety of programs for survivors throughout the year. COPS also offers training and assistance to law enforcement agencies nationwide on how to respond to a law enforcement member. COPS national headquarters is located in Camdenton, MO. There are more than 50 chapters nationwide providing support on a local level. Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial, Inc works closely with the Wisconsin Concerns of Police Survivors.

The Officer Down Memorial Page, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to America's law enforcement heroes. The stories of more than 25,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty are shared on this website.

In 1999, the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Death Response Team (LEDR Team) was formed and consists of law enforcement and affiliated professionals. The LEDR team assists agencies after any type of police death. The team's role is to assist law enforcement agencies by working with agency staff, to ensure the family is served and the wishes for their loved ones are carried out. The LEDR team serves the officer's agency by coordinating, peer counseling, debriefing, shift coverage, as well as other logistical details.

Established as a charitable 501(c)(3) organization, Wisconsin Injured Law Enforcement Officers Resource Council assists sworn law enforcement officers throughout Wisconsin who have been injured in the line of duty.

The Wisconsin Honor Guard Association (WGHA) is a 501(c)(3) organization made up of well trained law enforcement honor guard personnel from various agencies around Wisconsin. WHGA ensures fallen law enforcement officers receive appropriate recognition by helping to standardize honor guard protocols and practices, by providing training, educational materials, and direct assistance to law enforcement agencies. WGHA assists the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial, in providing Color Teams during the annual WLEM ceremony, and also coordinates the Sunrise Guard Mount prior to the ceremony.

The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Museum of Valor, established as a 501(c)(3) organization, will establish a museum devoted to memorializing Wisconsin's law enforcement heroes and invaluable public service they provide. The Museum will promote public interest, awareness, knowledge, and education about the law enforcement profession by sharing the historical accounts of bravery.
