As Donndelinger gave pursuit, the suspect's vehicle slid into a ditch. Donndelinger and the suspect then engaged in a gunfight. Both the suspect and Donndelinger were wounded. Donndelinger died five days later. The incident that caused Officer Donndelinger's death occured on 12/5/1937. Back
