    John Kossow at 6'4'' and 250 was the largest officer on the police force and was known as ''Big John''. Officer Kossow's wife received a pention of $40.00 per month.

    Incident Surrounding Death
    Officer Kossow attempted to arrest a subejct for a domestic disturbance when a fight broke out. The men fought for over 15 minutes. During the struggle Offier Kossow dropped his police club. The suspect pick up the club and struck Kassow in the head. The suspect hit Kassow in the head several times with the club. Kossow was found dead at the scene after the suspect fled.
