John E Sealy End of Watch: February 28, 1906 Age: 50 Rank: Under Sheriff Agency: Iron County Sheriff's Office County: Iron Location on Memorial: IV Incident Surrounding Death Under Sheriff Sealy was shot and killed as he and two other men approached a subject who they thought was a burglar in the railroad station. Under Sheriff Sealy was struck by gunfire and died a short time later. The suspected burglar was in fact a railroad employee who was in the station late at night. The employee mistook the three men entering the closed station to be burglars and shot toward them striking Sealy. Back
