Officer Erickson and hispartner located the suspect and gave chase. The suspects fled on foot when his car crashed. Erickson gave chase and caught the suspect nearby. The suspect shot Erickson during a struggle. The was then killed in a gun battle with Erickson's partner and the two county officers, including Murphy, who had been shot earlier. Office Lee Murphy also died as a result of his gunshot wounds. Back
